Timor militia man killed

Darwin - A militiaman was killed in a brief gunbattle with New Zealand UN peacekeeping troops near Suai in East Timor late on Tuesday, Australian military officials said yesterday. Meanwhile the Sydney Morning Herald reported that at least 130 East Timorese children have been taken from their parents in refugee camps in West Timor and sent to Java for indoctrination in the cause of reversing independence.
