Police in Belfast are investigating the suspicious death of a man who was found with severe head and body injuries early this morning.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was found in the Jamaica Road area in the north of the city at around 3.00 a.m.

He was taken to hospital but subsequently died of his injuries.

The PSNI earlier appealed for help in identifying the man. They have now succeeded in naming him.

Police have appealed to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area this morning to contact them.
