St Ledger a target for Celtic

Republic of Ireland international Sean St Ledger has emerged as a target for Celtic manager Tony Mowbray. With Gary Caldwell seemingly on his way out of Parkhead, the Scot sees the Preston defender as an ideal replacement.

Caldwell is set to link up with former Celtic manager Gordon Strachan at Middlesbrough, where St Ledger has just completed a successful loan spell, and Mowbray desperately needs to strengthen his defence.

Middlesbrough had hoped to make St Ledger’s loan move permanent but the 25-year-old requested a move back to Preston. He is believed to be excited by the prospect of a move to Glasgow, however, with Mowbray ready to table a bid.
