Racing: Jamie Spencer is taking a well-earned rest following the epic duel with Seb Sanders for the jockeys' championship that ended in a dead-heat.

The 27-year-old Tipperary man has no plans to race-ride in the near future as he recharges his batteries after a draining few months.

"I'm not going to ride for a while. I'm taking it easy," he said.  "I've got several things to do over the next few weeks and I'll see how I go.

"It was good for the sport and it was really exciting for everyone on Saturday.  It's sunk in now. It was great and the title was something I'd aimed for over the last few months of the season."

Spencer, who won the title outright in 2005, has not yet decided whether to ride at next month's international meeting in Hong Kong where he has been a regular fixture for the last five years.

"I've not 100 per cent sure about Hong Kong. I've gone there for the past five years, so I'll see. I'm just going to take it easy for the time being," he added.
