Speculation was rife in Galway and Cork yesterday about the identities of the Republic's latest Lotto millionaires. Two, so far unknown, winners in the weekend National Lottery jackpot each won £2,514,737.

The tickets were bought in a Londis supermarket in Mervue, Galway, and Hills' Newsagents, Blackpool Shopping Centre, Cork.

The Galway ticket was a Quick Pick bought at the last minute by a local young man. In Cork the identity of the person who bought the winning ticket was still unknown last night.
