A Castleisland-based solicitor and his brother have gone on trial at the Circuit Criminal Court in Tralee on charges of forging health insurance claim forms with intent to defraud in 1994.

Patrick Enright (52) , Glenlarehan, Castleisland, and his brother Denis Enright (48), a farmer, Knockardtry, Castleisland, yesterday pleaded not guilty to nine charges of forging documents purporting to be New York Life Insurance Company group health insurance claim forms on between January and August 1994 and in various amounts in respect of medical expenses purportedly incurred.

A total of €31,850 was claimed, it is alleged.

Judge Carroll Moran asked the jury to return this morning.
