Two telecom services operators will create 423 jobs in the northwest it was announced today.

Two telecom services operators will create 423 jobs in the northwest it was announced today.

Minister for Enterprise Micheál Martin announced today that telecom company Toucan will create 300 jobs at its call centre in Sligo.

Software company Sita is to expand its software operation in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, creating 123 jobs over the next three years.

Mr Martin also visited Letterkenny Institute of Technology where he announced the approval of a €2.5 million extension of the existing business development centre at the institute.

The centre will provide facilities to start-up companies and space for commercial and applied research.

He also revealed approval of a further €750,000 investment towards the expansion of the centre for applied research in marine biotechnology at Letterkenny Institute.
