A 45-year-old widowed mother of two who tried to import more than €18,000 of heroin through Dublin Airport will be sentenced later.

Jacqueline Miley had been a carer for her husband who suffered from multiple sclerosis prior to his death but fell behind in her rent to the city council due to her drug use and was to be paid €1,000 for transporting these drugs.

Miley, of North King Street, Dublin 7, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to importation of drugs and possession of heroin at Dublin Airport on January 25th, 2011.

Judge Patricia Ryan adjourned sentencing until March to allow probation and welfare report be prepared.
