An SDLP spokesman has denied the party plans to establish itself in the Republic, as reported in yesterday's Sunday Tribune.

The paper claimed the Keady and Rostrevor branches of the SDLP would put down separate motions for next month's party conference, urging it to establish a presence south of the Border to counter the electoral threat the party was facing from Sinn Fein in the North.
