Ryanair said today passenger numbers carried by the airline during April have increased by 24 per cent to 2.66 million on the same month last year.
The airline said its passenger load factor was 81 per cent, down from 82 per cent last year. The passenger load factor is a measure of how many seats the company fills on its planes.
Ryanair also said that 98 per cent of its bookings were now made on the Internet.
Shareholders at the company are due to meet next week to vote on whether to approve an order for new planes worth $4 billion from Boeing as part of plans to double passenger numbers by 2012.
