Paris - French police said yesterday they had arrested six men suspected of taking part in a daring rocket attack on two armoured vans, using explosives to blow one open and stealing 30 million French francs (£3.6 million).

Officers made the arrests at dawn in two southern Paris suburbs, seizing all or part of the loot as well as about 50 weapons including assault rifles, sub-machine guns and a rocket launcher, police said.
