London - A police officer wrongly accused of sending racist hate mail to himself yesterday received record damages of £150,000 after he was discriminated against for being Asian.
Sikh Metropolitan Police Sgt Gurpal Virdi was awarded the substantial amount at London Central Employment Tribunal courts.
