A hit-and-run motorist who drove into a crowd of children in Milford, Co Armagh last night is being sought by the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

A 14-year-old boy suffered a badly broken leg in the incident which happened on William Street, as well as cuts and bruises to his face.

The car, believed to be a silver Fiesta or Corsa, is reported to have been driven at a group of children. The vehicle left the scene without stopping.

In a separate incident a two-year-old girl suffered cuts to her head when the car she was travelling in was stoned in Derry.

The toddler was in her parents' Renault Megane when it was attacked on the Fern Road in the Galliagh area of the city last night.

A stone hit the window, showering the girl in a rear seat with glass. She was taken to hospital for treatment. Her parents were unhurt.
