Rome - Pope John Paul II has announced that two of the three children who saw the Virgin Mary at Fatima in 1917 are to be beatified, writes Patsy McGarry, Religious Affairs Correspondent. Francisco and Jacinta saw the Virgin along with their cousin Lucia. Francisco died in 1919 while Jacinta died in 1920. Lucia is a cloistered nun living in Portugal. The decree confirming the miracle necessary for beatification was promulgated last June.
