Pedestrian (27) dies in Co Monaghan crash

A 27-year-old man was killed after being hit by a car in Co Monaghan early this morning.

A 27-year-old man was killed after being hit by a car in Co Monaghan early this morning.

The pedestrian was hit by the car at 1.40 a.m. on the Carne to Smithboro Road. He died en route to Cavan General Hospital.

He has been named as Mr Ronan Leonard from Rakeenan, Newbliss, Co. Monaghan.

A motorcyclist killed in Swords, Co. Dublin yesterday has been named as 53-year-old old Mr Seamus Kelly from Lucan Co. Dublin. The accident involved a car and a motorcyclist and occured at 5.30 p.m. at Kilsallaghan, Swords.
