The Palestinian Election Commission signalled today a parliamentary vote set for July 17th would have to be delayed because it needs more time to prepare.

The commission said it needs at least two months from the time a new election law is ratified to lay the groundwork for voting.

President Mahmoud Abbas, who has vowed to hold the vote as scheduled, is in dispute with lawmakers over election reforms that have left the new law in limbo.
