Phnom Penh - A British headmaster sentenced last month to three years in jail in a rare Cambodian conviction for paedophilia has begun the process of appealing the verdict, his lawyer said yesterday.

John Paul Keeler (56), of Manchester, the head of an English school in Phnom Penh, was arrested in August and charged with debauchery after being caught making video tapes of four eight- to 10-year-old girls.
