Supporters of the Orange Order will stage a rally at Drumcree Hill tonight to mark the 800th day of the protest by the Portadown Orange District lodge. Their press officer, Mr David Jones, said tonight's rally would be the first in a series of events staged over the next few months to rekindle public awareness of Drumcree.

Describing the Drumcree protest as a, "major political issue", Mr Jones said there was little prospect of finding an early breakthrough to the 26-month old parade impasse. "Recent attempts at mediation have simply rehashed old proposals," he said.
