Louise Kennedy collection:Louise Kennedy yesterday launched her spring/summer collection in Dublin, adding yet more modern classics to her repertoire.
Models Sarah Morrissey, in dress (€1,695), and Teodora Sutra, in jacket (€795) and skirt (€595), showcased one of the season’s stories – Ladurée-inspired pastels in delicate and feminine occasionwear.
Drawing inspiration from a recent visit to Western Australia, this collection incorporates vibrant colours – coral, ocean blue, sea green and pink – and high-end fabrics such as silk, angora and lace. Kennedy’s take on the season’s monochrome trend sees a pairing of navy and white for a less severe interpretation of the classic, while her blond-on-blond palette offers an Irish take on a distinctly Upper East Side style.
Kennedy is no stranger to luxury living and her silk kaftans are a nod to the resort collections of larger fashion houses; at €1,295, a white silk print kaftan with mother of pearl would want to last more than just one cruise to St Barts.
