Ireland outhalf Ronan O'Gara traded in his No 10 jersey for a black tie and tails yesterday as he tied the knot with long-term girlfriend Jessica Daly at a wedding attended by some of Ireland's top rugby players.

Ronan (29) capped a superb Triple Crown winning year with Ireland and a Heineken European Cup winning year with Munster when he walked up the aisle with Jessica (28) at University College Cork's Honan Chapel yesterday afternoon.

Among Ronan's many team-mates in attendance were Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll, and international colleagues Peter Stringer, Paul O'Connell, Denis Leamy, Donnacha O'Callaghan, Alan Quinlan, Shane Horgan, Denis Hickie and Malcolm O'Kelly.

Also among the 300 guests were fellow Munster players Christian Cullen and Shaun Payne, and former Ireland stars Keith Wood, Mick Galway, Peter Clohessy and David Humphreys, along with Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan and Munster coach Declan Kidney.

Ronan, who met Jessica when they were students in UCC, had as his joint best men his schoolfriend Paul O'Mahony and his brother Feargal jnr.

Jessica, who works as a primary school teacher in Douglas, wore a full-length ivory gown, while her bridesmaids wore burnt-orange dresses.

Afterwards, the newly-weds travelled by Rolls Royce to Cork's newest hotel, the five-star Sheraton at the Fota Island Golf Resort and Spa where they became the first couple to stay in the presidential suite. It is understood they will honeymoon in Barbados.
