Boxing:John Joe Nevin has had to settle for silver at the President's Cup in Azerbaijan after being 'beaten 7-3 in the final by by Shayimov Orzubek of Uzbekistan and Asia (2).
The Cavan boxer was 3-1 up heading into the third and final round but his opponent scored an improbable six points in a row to deny the Irishman gold and a cheque for over €2,000.
He did, however, pick up silver and €1,355 and will share a prize of nearly €34,000 with his 10 Europe (2) team-mates after they finished top of the table, three points ahead of Europe (1).
