The Naval Service detained two French fishing vessels last night for allegedly breaching fishing regulations.

The Naval Service detained two French fishing vessels last night for allegedly breaching fishing regulations.

The two boats, the Gure Ametzaand the Armor 2, were detained within two hours of each other around eighty miles south of Mizen Head, Co Cork.

The Le Eithneis escorting both vessels to Cobh, Co Cork where they will be inspected by Department of Marine officials later today.
