Scottish Premier League Review:Dundee United continued to struggle to cope with life after Craig Levein as 10-man Aberdeen held on for their first win at Tannadice for almost four years.
Charlie Mulgrew scored the only goal of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League game in the 15th minute and the Dons were looking comfortable against opponents who conceded seven at Rangers on Wednesday night.
But they had to cling on for the final half-hour after Davide Grassi was shown the club's seventh red card of the season for lashing out at Andy Webster.
In the only other surviving game, St Mirren finally beat the weather after suffering two call-offs and snatched the three points against Kilmarnock thanks to a late winner from Chris Innes.
The clash in Paisley was one of just two Scottish top-flight matches to go ahead today but offered up little entertainment for the fans of both sides who braved the elements hoping for a positive result.
But, with both teams heading into the match level on just 14 points in the relegation zone and determined to secure victory, it was Saints who came out on top late on in a match where chances had been few and far between.
