Britain: Kerry McFadden last night won the reality TV show I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!
The 23-year-old former Atomic Kitten star, who lives in Dubllin and is married to the Westlife singer, Dubliner Bryan McFadden, burst into tears and hugged her fellow celebrities after clinching the public vote ahead of former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond. English-born pop singer Peter Andre had earlier become the first of the three finalists to be voted off the hit show.
McFadden, who had been favourite to win the final, repeated "oh my God" over and over, after the show's hosts, Ant and Dec, announced she had polled the majority of the three million votes cast.
More people had voted in this year's final than during the finals of the previous two series, which were won by Tony Blackburn and Phil Tufnell, they said.
As she left the jungle camp, she said she never thought she would win the show "in a million years".
She said: "I am absolutely numb. I cannot feel my legs. It feels really surreal."
A mother of two young girls, Molly (3) and Lily Sue, one last week, Kerry was greeted by husband Bryan after leaving the camp she had been in for the last 2 weeks.
During the period in the camp, the contestents had to go through a series of endurance tests and also went before nightly public votes.
It is believed McFadden could make up to £1 million from the show from deals for interviews, photoshoots and TV appearances.
Jordan, the glamour model voted out at the weekend, is likely to make the most money - she is being paid a reported £500,000 to tell her story of what really went on in the camp.
