Man stabbed in Christmas party row

A man was seriously injured when he was stabbed a number of times at Julianstown, Co Meath early on Saturday morning.

A man was seriously injured when he was stabbed a number of times at Julianstown, Co Meath early on Saturday morning.

The man, who is in his early 40s, was stabbed during a row at a Christmas party in a hotel at 1.15am, gardaí said.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where his condition is described as serious but stable.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí from Laytown are conducting investigations. No arrests have been made so far.
