A Belfast man who shot and injured his best friend while showing off with a pistol hobbled to freedom on crutches after being given a suspended jail term at the Crown Court yesterday.
The court heard that last week 19-year-old David Mitchell had been shot in both legs, "a punishment meted out to him", said his lawyer, because the same sinister men who gave him the gun blamed him for its recovery by the police.
