A Zairean national has been given a six-month suspended sentence by Judge Yvonne Murphy at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for obstructing a garda during a raid on his home. Belmondo Wantete Mukulu was convicted of obstructing Det Sergeant Gus Keane on May 1st, 1998 at Rafters Road, Drimnagh.

Mr Wantete told the jury that his father had been burned alive and his sister shot by security forces controlled by the former Zairean dictator Mobutu.
