A man charged with assaulting four off-duty gardai outside Shelbourne Park greyhound track in Dublin last year was granted bail of £1,000 yesterday. Mr Joseph Cullen (22), of Oliver Bond House, is accused of riotous behaviour and assault, causing harm, at Ringsend on May 15th, 1999.

Garda Caroline Moloney told Dublin District Court that he had previously failed to turn up in court, having been granted £1,000 cash bail.

Judge Leo Malone set new bail in the same amount and remanded him to appear on August 24th.
