A man from Co Cork, who was fatally injured in a traffic accident near Kanturk at the weekend has been named as Mr James Deely (30), from Rockchapel, Co Cork.
He was involved in a two-car collision on the Mallow/Kanturk road. Two women in the other car were slightly injured in the accident, which occurred after midnight on Saturday. Mr Deely was pronounced dead at Mallow General Hospital.
A young man died in the early hours of yesterday morning when he was struck by a car while walking home.
Mr Brendan Stone (18), of Ballyragget, Co Kilkenny, was walking near Ballinaslee, Co Kilkenny, when the accident happened at about 4.30 a.m.
