A man is due to appear at Dublin District Court later this afternoon in connection with possession of a large quantity of drugs.

The man was arrested earlier in the week by Gardaí investigating a series of armed robberies carried out on security vans in recent months.

Gardaí made a total of 24 arrested in Dublin and Meath in a series of raids against organised crime in connection with the incident.

One of those arrested is a staff member of a major cash-in-transit company.

Detectives recovered €300,000 in cash, at least six luxury vehicles, plasma televisions and a number of firearms, including three revolvers and a sawn-off shotgun.

A large quantity of cocaine, valued at at least €100,000, was also seized.
