A jury has been sworn in at the Central Criminal Court for the trial of a Westmeath man charged with raping a now 72-year-old woman over a number of years. The 56-year-old man denies four charges of rape and five of indecent assault on the woman on dates from 1983 to 1994. The hearing could last for a fortnight.
