Man charged with father's murder in Dublin

A man was today charged with the murder of his father on Dublin's southside last week.

A man was today charged with the murder of his father on Dublin's southside last week.

Mr Edward Brady, of Glenshane Grove, Tallaght in Dublin, appeared before Kilmainham District Court on the charge of killing Thomas Brady.

Mr Brady (49) a father of six, was found with head injuries in his flat at Dolphin House in the Rialto area on the evening of January 19th.

He was brought to St James's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Inspector Gabriel O'Gara of Kilmainham Garda Station said the accused remained silent when he was charged.

The accused confirmed to Judge Clare Leonard that he had a job and earning €255 a week. An application for legal aid was lodged.

He was remanded in custody to Cloverhill Prison until next Wednesday. He will appear before the court again on February 2nd at 10.30 a.m.
