A man is known to have fled the attack on the Clontarf Road outside the Yacht pub at 10.30 on Tuesday night after the assailants pulled up beside the car he was driving and discharged four shots.

Mr Roche who was a front-seat passenger died at the scene.

Earlier Superintendent Nicholas Conneely said people had come forward with information but as yet there had been no witnesses to the shooting.

A Peugeot car found in the nearby Killester area from which two people were seen fleeing just four minutes after the attack has not as yet provided any leads.

Both men were known to be involved in the four-year feud between two southside drug gangs but a definitive link to the ongoing feud has not been established.
