A man (20) died last night in a car crash in Co Tipperary.

A man (20) died last night in a car crash in Co Tipperary.

His car hit a wall in at Glengoole, Thurles, at 11.20 p.m.

Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to a road crash at about 7 a.m. yesterday in which a motorcyclist was killed.

The man (23) was taken to Beaumont Hospital after his motorcycle hit a skip on Lorcan Avenue, Santry, but was pronounced dead a short time later. There was no other vehicle involved.

Witnesses should contact gardaí at Santry Garda station, 01-6664000.

Elsewhere, the woman cyclist in her mid-60s who died on Tuesday night following a collision with an articulated lorry has been named as Mrs Teresa Lowry, of Ballina Road, Swinford.

So far this year, 57 people have died on the State's roads, up seven on the same period last year. In February, 24 people have died on the roads.
