Gardai in Tralee have issued a warning about a dangerous chemical which was stolen in a burglary of a dog pound.

Up to 30 bottles of Euthanol were taken in a break-in at the pound  last night. The chemical is normally used as a quick and humane way to put down dogs.

Each of the bottles stolen contains 100 mls of sky blue liquid. The Garda press office has warned that the chemical would be extremely harmful if ingested by humans.

Gardai are appealing for anybody with information to contact Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300 or the Garda Confidential Line (1800-666111).
