Racing: Leopardstown have called a precautionary inspection for 8am on Friday ahead of Saturday's Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup meeting.

The valuable fixture, which is set to feature The Listener and Beef Or Salmon in the Grade One showpiece, is under threat due to snow and rain.

Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: "They have a light covering of snow at present and also had 19 millimetres of rain overnight. The ground is currently heavy so they just want to assess the situation in the morning to see where they stand."
