Kildare County officials will hold an emergency meeting tonight to discuss how to proceed in relation to their appeal against the narrow defeat to Offaly last weekend.

The Leinster Council announced this afternoon that the result, 3-09 to 0-15, will stand, after Central Council decided last night to leave the decision with provincial officials.

The argument surrounds Offaly's replacement of John Reynolds with James Keane in the 70th minute.  Kildare believe that Keane was in fact a sixth substitute and not a blood replacement. GAA rules allow for only five replacements.

Pat Dunny, the Kildare delegate to Central Council stated today that it was Kildare's intention to pursue the matter further through the avenues available to them to achieve "fair play".

The likelihood is that this include taking the dispute to the Dispute's Resolution Authority.
