An Irishman who was killed in a motorcycle crash in Australia was laid to rest in Co Cork yesterday.
Jason O'Sullivan (34), from Glencreagh, Bantry, Co Cork, died after he was involved in a motorbike accident in the town of Singleton, New South Wales, two weeks ago.
The accident occurred when Mr O'Sullivan was riding his motorbike with his Australian girlfriend as a pillion passenger, local newspapers reported.
The motorbike struck a kerb and skidded to a stop after 70m. Mr O'Sullivan later died from serious head injuries in Singleton Hospital.
He had moved from Bantry to Australia almost 10 years ago.
He had recently relocated to the town of Singleton to take up a job as a miner.
Local priest Fr Ted Sheehan said the O'Sullivan family "are still very traumatised by the news of his death and are deeply upset".
Jason had returned to visit family and friends in Bantry last year.
He was laid to rest following requiem Mass at Saint Finbarr's Church in Bantry yesterday.
