Irish Independent editor Vinnie Doyle retires

The editor of the Irish Independent Vinnie Doyle has retired after nearly 24 years in charge.

The editor of the Irish IndependentVinnie Doyle has retired after nearly 24 years in charge.

Mr Doyle was the seventh editor of the newspaper in its 100 year history. He had previously been editor of the Evening Herald.

He will be succeeded by the  Evening Heraldeditor Gerry O'Regan with the evening paper's deputy editor Stehen Rae taking over as acting editor.
