The Coast Guard’s Dublin based rescue helicopter has been involved in a dramatic rescue on the Mourne mountains in Co Down.

The Coast Guard’s Dublin based rescue helicopter has been involved in a dramatic rescue on the Mourne mountains in Co Down.

Belfast Coastguard requested the assistance of the helicopter this afternoon to assist two people who had run into difficulties on the mountain with one individual believed to have a head injury.

The helicopter landed on the mountain this afternoon and with the aid of the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team, brought the two people to safety.
