Cool, changing weather to continue for coming week

Met Éireann has said the last week of July will feature rain, patches of sun and more cool temperatures.

Following the warm, dry weather that marked late June and early July, this week is set to bring more of the changeable weather that has prevailed this month.

Monday is set to be mainly cloudy, with occasional rain nationwide and more prolonged showers in the afternoon and evening in the North, East and Midlands. Highest temperatures will be between 14 and 18 degrees during the day, with lows of 8 to 10 degrees on what will be a clear Monday night.

Some sunny spells are expected on Tuesday, though the day will be cloudy with scattered showers. Temperatures will again be moderate, with highs between 14 to 17 degrees during the day and lowest temperatures during the night between 7 and 10 degrees.

Dry weather with sunny spells and scattered showers will be prevalent on Wednesday, but the day will be cooler, with highest temperatures between 13 and 16 degrees.

Sunny weather on Thursday morning will give way to cloudy weather from the Atlantic, bringing rain and drizzle to parts of Connacht, Ulster and North Leinster.

Early indications for next weekend predict similar weather, alternating between patches of sun and showers with cool temperatures.
