Motor Sport:Adam Carroll handed Team Ireland their first A1 GP title today by winning the final sprint and feature races of the season at Brands Hatch in England.
The British round became the finale of the 2008/09 championship after this month's scheduled season-ender in Mexico was cancelled due to the swine flu outbreak.
The self-styled "World Cup of Motorsport" involves national teams in identical single-seater cars powered by Ferrari and started up in 2005. France, Germany and Switzerland won the previous titles.
