Woman found near roadside dies in hospital
Gardaí are investigating the death of a woman who was found unconscious at the side of a road near Ennis, Co Clare, yesterday.
The woman, who was in her 40s, was found by a passerby outside a truck testing centre in Clarecastle at around 11.40am.
She was taken to Ennis General Hospital, where she died yesterday afternoon.
The State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, is to carry out a postmortem later today.
Supt John Kerin of Ennis Garda station said there was no evidence of foul play. Gardaí were still seeking to establish the woman's identity last night.
She was described as being in her mid-to-late 40s, 5ft 3in tall, with shoulder-length brown/blonde hair.
Mayo car crash victim named
An 80-year-old man killed in a car crash in Co Mayo on Saturday has been named as Henry Joseph Gill of Ivy House, Thornhill, Westport.
Mr Gill, a father of 12, died after the car he was driving left the road at Belclare, about three miles from Westport, shortly after 1pm and hit a wall.
There were no other persons or vehicles involved.
Pedestrian yet to be identified
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to help identify a pedestrian who was killed in Leixlip on Friday night.
The man was walking near the Reservoir Bridge on the N4 at 10pm when he was hit by a car.
He is believed to be in his 20s or 30s, between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.
