Food as medicine is an underlying theme in the programme of lectures and workshops at this year's Your Health Show in RDS, Dublin next weekend. Artisan food producers will offer visitors cookery demonstrations and tasting of organic breads, cheeses, salads and much more.

Nutritionist to the stars and contributor to the Channel 4 series, You Are What You Eat, Dr Gillian McKeith will discuss how good and bad nutrition affects your health. Naturopath and author of several books on detoxing, Belinda Viagas, will give advise on the best approaches to detoxing. Veteran complementary healthcare practitioner and author, Jan de Vries will also be on hand with tips on how to lead a healthy life. On the more controversial side, Dr Michael Culp will speak about the links between essential fatty acids (Omega 3 oils) and intelligence in children. Dr John McKenna, one of Ireland's leading experts on allergies will give a talk on Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
