WHILE Estee Lauder's popular make-up artist Paul Herrington will be back at Brown Thomas again all this week, the company has now decided it's time to find a full-time Irish representative to work here. So today we announce the search for Ireland's newest and most talented make-up artist who'll be offered this job.

"Being a good make-up artist is being aware of all the new trends and fashions and interpreting them to suit the individual," according to Paul Herrington. Obviously whoever's appointed to the new position will be expected to have some experience in the area, not just of photographic work but also of working with people of all ages.

If you're that person (or if you have an idea who might be), all you have to do is call to the Estee Lauder counter at Brown Thomas where further details of the position are available. Alternatively, send a stamped self-addressed envelope to Top Make-Up Artist, Estee Lauder, Brown Thomas, Grafton Street, Dublin 2. Deadline for return of applications is last post on Monday, 30th September.

Once these have been received, a shortlist of applicants will be invited to meet the judging panel including Meg Gilford and Ross Donald of Estee Lauder, Dolores Delaney and Cathy Murray of Brown Thomas, The Irish Times's Robert O'Byrne and Paul Herrington. Whoever is chosen will then travel to London to work alongside Mr Herrington at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge as well as undergoing several weeks' special training at the Estee Lauder training school before returning home to become Ireland's first Estee Lauder International makeup artist based at Brown Thomas.
