Gardai in Galway have issued a warning about waste asbestos in a vehicle stolen last week from a schoolground in Kilcahill, Co Galway.

The waste asbestos and pipe insulation was in a container attached to a lorry trailer.

Regarded as extremely hazardous, it should not be handled by unqualified people under any circumstances, according to the Gardai.

The missing lorry trailer is described as an orange tri-axle. The 40-foot container is grey and has the name "Hireaco" along each side. It went missing from the grounds of Corrandrum national school, Kilcahill, Co Galway, between August 22nd and 26th.
