A 16-year-old girl has told a jury at the Central Criminal Court she was raped on a weekly basis by her father over three years from the age of 10. She told Mr Patrick J. McCarthy SC, prosecuting, that she had moved into her grandparents' house in Dublin with her father and brother after her parents separated in the late 1980s. She alleged the offences started shortly after her grandmother died in 1994.
The 45-year-old accused has pleaded not guilty to 19 counts of rape on dates unknown between October 1st, 1994 and October 31st, 1997. The trial continues before Mr Justice Carney and a jury.
