Gardaí have named three people who died in two separate road crashes in Co Laois and Co Carlow.
James Moore (23), Grangewatt, Tullow, Co Carlow and 22-year-old Louise Ryan of Patrick's Road, Limerick died in Aghafin, Mountrath, Co Laois early yesterday morning.
They were killed when their car collided with a bus in at 1.10 a.m.
The bus driver and the five passengers on board were not injured but were taken to Portlaoise Hospital for observation.
In Co Carlow on Monday, a 33-year-old man was killed after his motorbike hit a wall at Moanduff, close to Leighlinbridge, at 1.45 p.m. He was named as Paul MacGettin, a Scottish national living in Old Leighlin, Co Carlow.
So far, 31 people have died on the roads this year. Last year, 380 people died on the State's roads, an increase of 45 on the previous year.
