Four people were arrested yesterday in connection with the shooting in Dublin last month of Clondalkin man Jonathan O'Reilly.
Two men and two women were arrested following a number of searches in West Dublin. During the searches a number of firearms and a quantity of drugs were discovered.
The four people, all in their twenties and thirties, are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences at the State Act.
O'Reilly (24), was shot dead on April 17th as he sat in a car outside Cloverhill Prison. A motorbike pulled up beside his parked BMW and a man fired three shots into the car, hitting the victim. The murdered man was believed to have been targeted because of his links to the drugs trade. He was part of a well-known west Dublin gang heavily involved in drug dealing since the mid-1990s.
