The death has taken place in Cork of Mr Jerry O'Mahony, one of the closest confidants of the late Taoiseach, Mr Jack Lynch. Mr O'Mahony was a behind-the-scenes activist in Fianna Fail and was responsible for organising the public address systems at almost all of the party's public occasions in Cork city and county over the decades.
